I was going through a lot of personal growth, and I wanted to capture that feeling of change and self - realization.  The lyrics touch on themes of letting go of the past and embracing who you're becoming, even when its a bit scary. 

I wanted to keep it simple and stripped back, so the message was entirely on the vocals and the message. I used minimal instrumentation - just some soft guitar, light percussion, and subtle synths, to create a space where the lyrics could really breathe. I feel like less is more in this case, and it helps to create this sense of vulnerability. 

Ive always loved artists who blend the organic with the experimental. They've got that indie-folk sound but take risks with production. I also love thos more electronic elements, I think that combination of textures is what I gravitate towards.
